It is a while since the band have presented an indoor summer concert. So we are delighted to invite you to one this year on July 11th at 7.30pm!
It is at the University of Reading’s Great Hall on the London Road campus, which is a beautiful venue. This is a very special concert as we are going to be joined by the University of West Virginia (WVU) Alumni Band. Its members were all players in the WVU band as students, now coming together as graduates in the alumni band for events during the year. They are on tour in the UK and France this summer and asked to join us for a summer concert – of course we said yes! You can find out more about them here: https://wvualumniband.org/
For this concert, each band will perform their own programme, with a short break between. You can expect lots of familiar tunes from both sides of the Atlantic, and maybe a few surprises! It will certainly be an enjoyable way to spend a summer’s evening, with music from two concert bands in a fabulous venue. We are certainly looking forward to it.
