Please join us for an evening of colour, contrast and joyful music as we present “Musical Kaleidoscope” at 7pm on Saturday 10th October at Bulmershe School in Woodley. A kaleidoscope is bright, with changing patterns, and always joyful – and that is exactly what you can expect from our autumn concert. And we are back in our local venue with good comfortable seating, easy access by public transport and plentiful parking.
So, what music do we have for you? Well, we have a lively arrangement of the Mickey Mouse March to get your toes tapping and the cheerful Entry of the Gladiators – the unmistakable theme of circus clowns everywhere – will take you straight to the big top.
For something more adventurous, Paul Hart’s Cartoon conjures up everything you might expect from a classic crazy cartoon, with the help of lots of percussion. Festivo by Edward Gregson brings a different kind of energy with exuberant, changing rhythms which we know you will love.
And for those who love a touch of the Proms, there are familiar favourites too: Wood’s Fantasia on British Sea Songs (featuring Rule Britannia) and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March (Land of Hope and Glory). A fantastic guest singer joins us for these, bringing that unmistakable last-night-of-the-Proms party spirit into the room.
Old favourites and new discoveries come together in a concert which will definitely brighten your October evening!
