Celebrating our return to live music!

Banner with Strike Up the Band text

This Autumn, we’re delighted to be returning to the concert stage with a brilliant celebration of live music-making! Packed with tunes you’ll know and love from the music of stage and screen to well-known folk tunes and pop, we’ll be taking the chance to play some of our favourite pieces, as well as live performances of some of the music that we recorded during lockdown. With highlights including Abba GoldSinatra in Concert and A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, there’ll be something for everyone and plenty of great melodies to set your foot tapping!

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking various measures to help keep everyone safe for this performance. Before booking tickets, please read the section below on what to expect at this concert and what we ask of you.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Staying Safe: What to expect at our Autumn Concert

After an incredibly difficult time for everyone, we’re delighted to be able to return to playing live music for you, but also conscious of the need to keep everyone safe. Here’s what you can expect at our Autumn concert and what we ask of you:

COVID-19 Symptoms – if you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (a high temperature, new and persistent cough, or a loss of/change in sense of taste or smell), you should not attend the concert, even if your symptoms are mild. In this case, you should self-isolate and take a PCR test in line with government guidance on testing and self-isolation.

Seating – since 19th July, government guidance has permitted performance venues to open at full capacity so in line with current practice across the arts sector, bookings will not be socially distanced and you are likely to be sitting next to other people. Since Woodley Baptist Church has a flat floor, we have offset the rows of seats to offer you the best possible view.

Masks – Whilst you’re inside the venue, we ask that you please wear a face covering at all times out of consideration for those around you, unless you are exempt for medical reasons. The band will wear face coverings when not performing and our front of house team will also wear face coverings.

Ventilation – there are no mechanical fresh air ventilation systems at the venue, however we will be keeping small windows behind the band open to maintain some supply of fresh air. External doors will be opened before the performance and during the interval to help circulate fresh air. This may cause the temperature of the venue to drop slightly, so you may wish to bring an extra layer for during the interval.

Cleaning – the venue will be cleaned before the day of the concert. Hand sanitiser will be available and we would ask you to make use of this and clean your hands frequently.

NHS Test & Trace – as part of the booking process, we will ask you for a telephone number or email address for your party so that we have an accurate record of who has attended the concert.

Refreshments – unfortunately, we will not be able to serve refreshments on this occasion.

We have completed a health and safety risk assessment for the performance which includes risks from COVID-19. Please get in touch with the box office to request a copy if you’d like to read it.
