Wow! After a really busy season of rehearsals since the start of the year, yesterday saw WCB’s first performance of 2015 in the form of our Spring Concert – Orient Express. Our varied programme transported the audience on a voyage of delight across Europe with music including the Blue Danube waltz, Cabaret, Ticket to Ride, Starlight Express, the theme from Poirot and Chattanooga Choo-Choo. Especially popular was our guest soloist, violinist James Sandalls who performed the haunting and lyrical theme from Schindler’s List as well as the death-defying Monti’s Czardas.
With all that excitement over, the band is now set to start practising for what promises to be another busy summer with numerous concerts out and about in Berkshire, as well as a weekend away to Worcestershire and a concert at High Cross Church in Woodley – more details of all of these events will be available on our concerts page soon!
